RUVIL VP4338 is a copolymer powder based on vinyl acetate and vinyl versatate. It is produced by a spray-drying process of a latex dispersion with polyvinyl alcohol as a protective colloid, and it is easily redispersible in water. The particular nature of the polymer allows the film formation at low temperatures.
RUVIL VP4338 is used to modify mixtures containing hydraulic binders.
Thanks to its particular chemical-physical composition, it improves the adhesion to the substrates and the open time of the mortars. It also lowers the request of water, thanks to the improved workability of mixtures with RUVIL VP4338.
Neolith RUVIL VP4338 is particularly suitable for the preparation of cement tile adhesives. Even low amounts of RUVIL VP4338 in the premix increase the adhesion and the tear strength of the applied tiles. Moreover heat resistance and freeze thaw resistance are considerably improved.
For the preparation of thin bed tile adhesives it is recommended the use of RUVIL VP4338 from 0,5% up to 2% for C1 adhesives and from 2,5% up to 4% for C2 adhesives.
Mortars for thermal insulation
The addition of RUVIL VP4338 gives good workability, excellent adhesion and good water resistance to the mortars.
For the preparation of adhesives and finishing systems we suggest the addition from 2% up to 5% of RUVIL VP4338.
Mortars containing RUVIL VP4338 have an excellent adhesion and workability as well; due to these characteristics, RUVIL VP4338 can be used to formulate repairing mortars.
RUVIL VP4338 is delivered in paper bags of 25 kg and big bags of 500 kg.
RUVIL VP4338 must be stored in a dry and cool warehouse. Pallets must not be overlapped due do the thermoplasticity of the polymer.
Packing must be well closed after use, in order to avoid the atmospheric humidity which may cause the caking of the redispersible powder.
